The international conference "Open Libraries: Open Science, Open Learning" will be held Sep 30-Oct 3, 2024 by the Spanish National University of Distance Education (UNED) Library in Madrid. The event programme includes the talk "Research Information Management Systems in Support of Open Science and Open Access" to be delivered by the euroCRIS Technical Secretary to open the first session on Tue Oct 1st.
A preliminary event website is already available for the Autumn 2024 Strategic Membership Meeting (SMM2024) to be held Nov 26-28, 2024 at INRAE in Paris. A call for proposals from euroCRIS members is already open. Please feel free to submit your proposals for contributions to eurocris [at] eurocris.org until Oct 13th, 2024.
The programme for the Sep 23-24, 2024 Paris Conference on Open Research Information has already been announced. This 2-day event for signatories and supporters of the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information (DORI) of which euroCRIS is an official supporter, will be hosted by Sorbonne University in Paris.
As of Fri Aug 30th, the 33 papers to be included in the CRIS2024 conference proceedings have been shared with the editor of the special issue of Procedia Computer Science where they will be published in the Autumn. A webpage on the euroCRIS site will keep authors updated on the progress towards publication. The next step will be the feedback received from the editor on any formatting issues in these papers.
The presentation "Research Information Management Systems: an Overview from Europe" delivered by the euroCRIS Technical Secretary within the FSCI 2024 training course on RIMS is already available in the euroCRIS repository.
On Tue Jul 16th the Jisc will hold a webinar on the issues associated with the procurement of CRIS systems and repositories. The discussion will elaborate on the poster on the Jisc Research Management Systems Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) that was recently presented at the CRIS2024 Conference in Vienna.
Several editions of the María de Guzmán (MdG) call issued by the Spanish Foundation of Science and Technology (FECYT) have provided funding for the development of e-infrastructure at Spanish research-perfoming organisations as a means to support Open Science. This covers both Open Access repositories and CRIS systems. A workshop will be held in Madrid on Tue 9 July to discuss this area of activity with some of the funded proposals in different editions of the MdG call.
A guest presentation by euroCRIS was delivered within the half-day event on "The relevance of CRIS systems for research information management at universities" held by Peruvian Ministry of Education on Fri 28 Jun 2024. The international perspective provided by euroCRIS was complemented on the event programme by presentations from the BrCRIS national project in Brazil and from the team behind the VIVO-based institutional CRIS at Agrosavia in Colombia.
The annual euroCRIS Financial Report for 2023 adopted by the Board during its Feb 2024 in-person meeting in The Hague and recently presented at the CRIS2024 Conference is now available online as required by the euroCRIS Statutes. The last part of this economic summary for 2023 includes the auditor's report issued in April this year.
The June 2024 issue of the magazine "La collection numérique" includes two short pieces on euroCRIS and CRIS systems. The magazine is published by euroCRIS member Amue (Agence de mutualisation des universités et établissements d'enseignement supérieur ou de recherche). This issue 32 is called "Sharing from here and abroad" and showcases a good number of international initiatives.
