The Autumn 2022 Strategic Membership Meeting will be held at the Van der Valk hotel in Nijmegen (Netherlands) from Nov 30 to Dec 2 later this year. More information on the event will soon be shared via the euroCRIS members' mailing list. In the meantime, if you have a proposal for a contribution to the event programme, please send us a short 1-page abstract to eurocris [at] eurocris.org.
The next event in the series monthly OpenAIRE community calls for content providers will be devoted to "CRIS systems registration in OpenAIRE and most recent developments". This Oct 5th call will feature a joint presentation by euroRIS and OpenAIRE explaining the process for CRIS registration and harvesting by OpenAIRE and the role the euroCRIS DRIS will play in the workflow. The event will run in the usual 14:30-15:30 CEST timeslot for these monthly OpenAIRE community calls.
The DARIAH Bibliographical Data Working Group will hold an open online workshop "Databases and information systems for research output: digital humanities outlook" from noon to 13:30 CEST on Fri Sep 30th, 2022. The event programme includes Joonas Nikkanen (CSC) will reflect on Research.fi and Andreas Czerniak (Uni Bielefeld and OpenAIRE) will present the OpenAIRE Graph as an aggregator of CRIS systems.
The next EOSC Symposium will be held from 14 to 17 November 2022 as a hybrid event in Prague and online. The event will will provide updates from across the EOSC ecosystem. The pre-registration for this EOSC Symposium is already open. The event programme will be shared from this news section once it's made available.
Two euroCRIS presentations were included in the programme for the Hatun Tinkuy Perú 2022 event held in Cusco (Aug 12th & 15th) and Lima (Aug 17th & 18th). Both talks by euroCRIS President Sadia Vancauwenbergh and Technical Secretary Pablo de Castro are already openly available on the euroCRIS repository.
The 16th International Conference on Metadata and Semantics Research (MTSR'2022) will take place at the University College London (UCL) on Nov 7-11 later this year. The event themes and key dates (incl the Aug 28th deadline for submissions) are shown on the conference website. Like in previous editions of the event, euroCRIS will again sponsor the MTSR Best paper and the Best student paper awards.
The euroCRIS President and Technical Secretary will both deliver guest talks at a new edition of the Hatun Tinkuy Peru event to be held Aug 17-18, 2022. The meeting is organised as a hybrid event by the Peruvian Research Council (CONCYTEC) and the Cuban Sceiba project, in collaboration with the VLIR-UOS project "Quality control and monitoring of scientific research output on national and institutional level".
The kick-off meeting for the 3-year FAIRCORE4EOSC project in whose Advisory Board euroCRIS is represented is taking place in Amsterdam on 29 and 30 June 2022. The public part of the FAIRCORE4EOSC kick-off on Wednesday 29 June was livestreamed via the project's YouTube channel from 9:15 to 11:00 CEST. It included presentations by Tommi Suominen, Project Coordinator at CSC - IT Center for Science, Peter Szegedi, DG CNECT at the EC, Mark van de Sanden, SURF and Ingrid Dillo, DANS. DANS is the project coordinator for the parallel FAIR-IMPACT project, which is being kicked-off in parallel.
A series of free webinars is being offered as a warm-up to the 2023 Expert Finder Systems International Forum. The first of these will be held on Thu Jul 21st, 2022 under the title "What Is a Research Information Management System? Q & A with RIM System Providers". It will be moderated by Rebecca Bryant from euroCRIS Strategic Partner OCLC and the panel will include representatives of Clarivate (Converis and Esploro), Elsevier (Pure), VIVO and Symplectic Elements.
