CRISCROS WG webpage available

A webpage for the CRISCROS Working Group has been made available under the new "Community" menu option on the euroCRIS website. CRISCROS, which was launched in Dec 2022, brings together national and regional CRIS initiatives around the world. The webpage provides a summary of the WG activities, including the forthcoming online WG meeting on Sep 13th to discuss PIDs and CRIS systems.

EUNIS 2023 conference proceedings published

As reported a couple of months ago, a significant number of euroCRIS Board members, euroCRIS members and friends gathered in Vigo (Spain) last June for the 2023 edition of the EUNIS annual conference. The EUNIS2023 proceedings have now been published on EasyChair within the EPiC Series in Computing. A number of CRIS-related outputs are available in this publication, with DOIs if no licences, such as the update on the Austrian RIS Synergy project and the paper "Research Information Management Systems: covering the whole research lifecycle".

euroCRIS at the 2nd Ukrainian Open Science Conference in Oct

Following an invitation received from the State Scientific and Technical Library (SSTL) of Ukraine, euroCRIS will be on the programme for the Second Ukrainian Open Science Conference to be held online next Oct 26-27. A first OS conference was held last year coinciding with the Open Access week. The SSTL hosts the National Ukrainian Research Information System (URIS).

Brazilian national CRIS BrCris to be launched at IBICT

The VIVO-based Brazilian national CRIS BrCris will officially be launched on Tue July 18th. To mark the occasion, the Brazilian Institute for Science and Technology (IBICT) is organising a full-day event in Brasilia and online. The event programme includes a round table with representatives from the VIVO-based Florida ExpertNet system and from euroCRIS.

New Dutch National Research Portal released

As of Mon Jul 3rd, 2023, the Dutch research portal NARCIS has been replaced by the Netherlands Research Portal on OpenAIRE CONNECT. This portal covers the publications, datasets and projects produced by research institutes in the Netherlands. Judging from the number of requests for updates of existing DRIS entries and/or creation of new ones received from Dutch universities in the past couple of months, euroCRIS has played a relevant role in this transition by enabling the harvesting of institutional CRISs at Dutch institutions by OpenAIRE via the exposure of their metadata through the DRIS and the application of the OpenAIRE Guidelines for CRIS Managers.

euroCRIS at EUNIS23 annual conference in Vigo

A significant number of euroCRIS Board members attended and presented at the Jun 14-16 annual EUNIS conference 2023 in Vigo (Spain). These presentations included a talk on the RIS Synergy project by Uni Vienna Elena Fürst, Madeleine Harbich and Michael Greil, a talk on CRIS systems and Research.fi by CSC Hanna-Mari Puuska, two talks on VIVO and works by PhD students in CRIS systems by Anna Guillaumet and a presentation on persistent identifiers by Pablo de Castro. CroRIS/Uni Zagreb in Croatia and RAD-on/OPI in Poland were also representing research information management initiatives on the EUNIS23 programme.

MM2023Brussels presentations available in the euroCRIS repository

The presentations delivered at the May 30-Jun 1, 2023 Spring membership meeting organised by the EWI Department of the Flemish Government in Brussels are already available in the euroCRIS repository. The repository records, which often include the extended abstracts that event attendees submitted in advance, have also been linked from the MM2023Brussels programme.

Former euroCRIS President Ed Simons awarded medal of exceptional merit

During the official dinner of the Spring 2023 membership meeting at the Atomium Restaurant in Brussels, former euroCRIS President Ed Simons was awarded the euroCRIS medal of exceptional merit. The medal was delivered by the current euroCRIS President Jan Dvořák and recognises the massive contribution Ed Simons has made to the research information management community and to euroCRIS over many years.
