The event website for the 17th International Conference on Current Research Information Systems (CRIS2026) to be held May 20-22 at the University of the Azores is already available online. The CRIS2026 CfP with a Feb 7th deadline for submissions is included in the website. Several other sections are still under construction and will remain so until a preliminary programme is available.
Following the celebration of three successful online CERIF surgeries on Sep 25th, Oct 30th and Dec 4th, the participants in these sessions and their hosts – Board members Jan Dvořák and Dragan Ivanović, who lead the development of the refactored CERIF – have scheduled a 4th CERIF surgery to be held online at 2pm on Thu January 15th, 2026. As in previous sessions, an informal registration procedure will be applied whereby any euroCRIS member may email their expression of interest to eurocris [at] eurocris.org to receive the access details a couple of days before the session takes place.
The presentations delivered at the Autumn 2025 Strategic Membership Meeting held Nov 25-27 at the Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) have now been deposited in the euroCRIS repository and linked from the event programme.
A call for proposals has now been released for the CRIS2026 Conference to be held May 20-22, 2026 at the University of the Azores in Ponta Delgada, Azores Islands, Portugal. The CfP calls for submissions for the conference programme until 7 Feb 2026.
The SMM2025 programme has already been made available on the event website. This Autumn 2025 euroCRIS Strategic Membership Meeting will be held Nov 25-27 at the Izmir Institute of Technology in Urla/Izmir, Türkiye. The programme includes a comprehensive national session devoted to current developments in research information management and Open Science in Türkiye as well as a number of contributions from euroCRIS members and Strategic Partners like ORCID, OpenAIRE or COAR. Sessions devoted to the progress of the two working groups managed by euroCRIS, AI4RIS and CRISCROS, feature on the programme too.
The paper "Common Research Information Management from a European University Alliance Perspective" written by euroCRIS Board members Pablo de Castro, Jan Dvořák, Ognjen Orel and Joachim Schöpfel and presented at the EUNIS Congress 2025 held last June in Belfast has now been published. The EUNIS 2025 annual congress proceedings include other papers on CRIS systems and European University Alliances, in line with the event theme "Connecting communities and empowering creativity".
The article "Expanding the research graph underpinning the implementation of Open Science: research instruments and facilities" was published on Fri Nov 7th in the Scottish Journal of Open Research (SJOR). The paper, authored by the euroCRIS Technical Secretary, summarises the panel discussion held at the Autumn 2024 euroCRIS meeting at the INRAE in Paris on the inclusion of research equipment and facilities into the wider CERIF-based research graph. Some hints are provided on how the landscape may evolve to gradually capture this additional research entity and the side-benefits this could entail.
The Joint Data Project (GDP) launched by a number of Swedish research funders was presented earlier this year at the Spring membership meeting in Leuven. The project has now released its APIs together with the accompanying documentation. Most of the information is in Swedish only, but the diagram in dbdiagram on the GitHub-page contains translations to English.
The #OSICU2025 presentation "Prospects for the Development of Research Infrastructure in Ukraine" is already available in the euroCRIS repository. The presentation was delivered by euroCRIS Technical Secretary Pablo de Castro at the ІV International Conference "Open Science and Innovation in Ukraine 2025" on Oct 22nd, and addressed the value of CRIS systems like the Ukrainian National CRIS URIS to provide research information to European University Alliances which Ukrainian universities are members of.
The presentation "New developments and offerings around the KDSF standard" delivered by euroCRIS Board member Sophie Biesenbender at the Sep 24-25 7th VIVO Workshop in Hannover is already available in the euroCRIS repository. The (German-language) presentation provides an update on recent developments at the German Commission for Research Information (KFiD). These include version 2 of the German KDSF standard (Research Core Data Set) for research information management and the FIS Landkarte project to produce an up-to-date snapshot of the institutional CRIS infrastructure at German universities and research centres.
