As it is customary, the annual euroCRIS accounts for 2024 were presented to euroCRIS members at the Spring 2025 membership meeting in Leuven and made openly available on the website. For the first time, an appendix to the annual accounts provides the list of official euroCRIS members as of 31 Dec 2024.
A lovely video prepared by euroCRIS members the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has underpinned the announcement at the end of the Leuven membership meeting that the CRIS2026 Conference will be held in May 19-22, 2026 at the Campus Ponta Delgada of the University of the Azores in the island of São Miguel. A summary of the venues for the forthcoming euroCRIS events is included in the "updates from the Board" presentation delivered by euroCRIS President Jan Dvořák.
The paper "Common Research Information Management from a European University Alliance Perspective" coauthored by four euroCRIS Board members (Pablo de Castro, Jan Dvořák, Ognjen Orel and Joachim Schöpfel) will be part of the programme for the EUNIS Annual Congress 2025 to be held at the Ulster University in Belfast on June 4-6, 2025. The paper explores the research activity conducted by these transnational networks of European universities and the role that interoperable research information management systems can play in enhancing this work.
Approximately 30 attendees were present at the Apr 24th second online meeting of the euroCRIS Working Group on Artificial Intelligence for Research Information Systems (AI4CRIS). The meeting was coordinated by euroCRIS Board member António Lopes and included two presentations on AI-mediated duplicate record detection (by Joachim Dornbusch, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) and on the integration of AI into CRIS systems more generally (by Joachim Schöpfel, Université de Lille and euroCRIS Board member). The next WG activity will be a round table on Day II (Thu May 15th) of the Spring 2025 euroCRIS membership meeting in Leuven.
