CERIF refactoring call released

The euroCRIS Technical Committee for Interoperability and Standards (TCIS) have now issued the call for proposals for the CERIF refactoring pilot project to be funded by euroCRIS. This pilot project aims to make CERIF more useful and effective for modern data interchange and software engineering practices. The maximum budget for project proposals, to be submitted before Wed Sep 30th, 2020, is €20,000 and the associated project should run for a maximum of 9 months. The proposals will be evaluated on the basis of three criteria: description of the organisation and relevant experience, workplan and value for money.

CRIS2020 conference Limassol cancelled

On Aug 1^st, 2020 it was officially announced that the euroCRIS CRIS2020 conference, originally planned to be held June 17-20th at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) had now been officially cancelled in order to responsibly address the minimisation of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A guest keynote presentation “Open Science, Open Access: New Ways?” was remotely delivered on Aug 5^th by the euroCRIS secretary at the 3^rd Virtual Forum held by the Directorate General for Libraries and Digital Information Services (DGBSDI) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City.

Phase 2 of the DRIS+ project awarded by Corallia/OpenAIRE Advance

The assessment stage for Phase 1 of the projects funded by OpenAIRE Advance under the Open Innovation Call has now been completed with a positive evaluation of the work carried out by the euroCRIS project “DRIS+: Enhancing the euroCRIS Directory of Research Information Systems (DRIS)”.

New OCLC report on “social interoperability” released

Following last year’s collaboration around the global RIM survey that resulted in the report “Practices and Patterns in Research Information Management”, OCLC colleagues and strategic partners of euroCRIS Rebecca Bryant, Annette Dortmund and Brian Lavoie have published a new report called "Social Interoperability in Research Support: Cross-Campus Partnerships and the University Research Enterprise".

The report specifically looks into the role of research libraries in providing a seamless research support service at institutions. By conducting semi-structured interviews with 22 individuals working in a wide range of research support-related roles across campus at 17 research-intensive universities in the United States, the report analyses the needs and opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration among different university units – on top of the underlying technical system interoperability.
