A new W3C DXWG working group was created on May 5th to allow systems to expose a list of application profiles they're able to process, in order of preference. In the framework of the VRE4EIC project, this means eVREs exposing the list of application profiles and/or metadata standards that have been mapped to CERIF.
The creation of this WG is a result of the VRE4EIC project workshop "Smart Descriptions & Smarter Vocabularies" (SDSVoc) held in Amsterdam at the end of last year. Its specific aims
include:
1. Revise and expand the DCAT standard;
2. Formalise the notion of an application profile;
3. Describe methods for content negotiation by application profile.
