The first conference on the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information took place in Paris on Sep 23–24. The euroCRIS President Jan Dvořák was among the approx 80 on-site participants. Representatives of institutions, funders, national bodies, and research information e-infrastructures were all present and shared their views on the DORI initiative.
The main focus was research evaluation, where the importance of the switch to open research information is paramount. CRISs make a natural component in that effort. As a way to bring this topic closer to the euroCRIS membership, there will be a guest contribution by one of the architects of this declaration at the forthcoming Nov 26-28 euroCRIS Strategic Membership Meeting at INRAE in Paris.
