The 17th International Conference on Current Research Information Systems (CRIS2026) was successfully held last week (May 20-22) at the University of the Azores in Ponta Delgada. With 120 registered attendees, the event provided another great opportunity to capture the state of the art in CRIS operation across Europe and to hold fruitful discussions with attendees of the most diverse provenance.
The CRIS2026 Keith Jeffery best paper award went to Ils de Bal and Pascale Dengis from the WEWIS Department of the Flemish Government for their presentation "Advantages and challenges of gathering data into a regional CRIS: the case of FRIS". CRIS2026 attendees voted Audrey Peek's "The Kosovo Research Information System (KRIS)" as the best poster presented at the conference (on behalf of the Kosovo Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation-MESTI).
The CRIS2024 presentations and extended abstracts will gradually be made available in the euroCRIS repository and linked from the conference programme in the forthcoming weeks.
